May 9, 2012 - Did you ever figure this out because it is killing me too. My head unit only slides out a few inches and there is no way to reach the back of the unit

May 3, 2012 - @johnathanschwets that's why you get the iPod adapter from Grom Audio and not use the crappy CD player

Apr 2, 2012 - Stock CD player is terrible on the 04's... I go over railroad tracks, the CD skips. I go over a pothole, the CD skips. If I so much as THINK about it the player will skip, and sometimes it just decides to not play at all.

Oct 25, 2011 - ok nvm i fixed it. it was those connectors to the front panal. i had to remove the cd player panal metal thing with the black stripe. i didnt put it in right and it was making the board crooked so it wouldnt fit in flush. took it out and it solved my problem. WOOT!

Jul 20, 2011 - if you're cd player magically "stopped working" and mazda stold you it'd be $500+ to fix, and you said "fuck it, i'll replace it I myself" hit that damn like button.

May 17, 2011 - have lots of problems with cd player skipping when going over little bumps that shouldn't matter. watched this and figured out whoever owned car before me put subs in and left out that "hidden bolt" anyone know what size it is? and if replacing it may help with the skipping?

Jan 8, 2011 - Anyone know the length of the hidden bolt? I dropped it and cannot find it. The radio is back in but ever so slightly loose. Thanks.
Archames Says:
Dec 7, 2010 - Just wanted to say, for anyone who's radio lights up but won't respond and has a blank display after doing this, you have put the faceplate back on the radio very carefully if you take it off. It has to go on just right so that it doesn't wiggle at all, or else all the connections won't be made. I had to push it carefully on applying even pressure to both sides to make it work again.

Jul 11, 2010 - thanks dude. this video showed me what the pic tutorials couldnt as far as getting that screw out. to those that cant find it-- lie down on ur back on the floor, head in the corner against the gas pedal. then raise your head as FAR as you can into the corner, looking left. you will BARELY see it. dim lighting wont do you any good either. it is its located to the lower right of that white circular hub, directly BEHIND the bar that contains the two nuts close together
