Jul 10, 2009 - Twister side???not effective??? bro, it takes time to get accustomed to it, but it is very effective. ESPECIALLY in MMA where strikes are not allowed to the back of the head. Once the necessary balance is achieved, twister side can be a HUGE weapon. AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS FROM TWISTER SIDE...a mount is only a step away... since the opponent cannot guard the mount from his current position with his legs.

Jul 10, 2009 - that would of been sick if bravo got that rubber guard into a omoplata or monoplata

Jul 10, 2009 - Does it really matter? Why does everyone hate on Eddie Bravo and his system? Just add it to your game and keep going. You never know you could be in a competition stuck in some jacked position somewhere and the only thing you can come up with is something from his system and use it and it work and you win the match because you knew it and had you not you would be stuck in a position and lose the match because of it. His system exists for you to add something to your game to help you out.

Jul 9, 2009 - Bravo was getting schooled and Rolyer made one little mistake...
seaFoodSifu Says:
Jul 9, 2009 - Stop hating on Eddie Bravo so much. So what if he didn't win the other matches? He beat a legend in Royler Gracie. Can you beat a brown belt, for starters (compared to Royler's skill level)? Where are your achievements? Where's your jumpstart for a career? He created a chain of schools and made a name for himself. What's yours? Oh, it's bjjboy1221 on YouTube. You're astounding. hahahahaha
jujitsu34 Says:
Jul 8, 2009 - you took what i said the rong way bjjboy hhe has been working on 10th planet since that fight and i have a load of respect for what hes done for the art
sclaysdharma Says:
Jul 7, 2009 - Why would you want to street fight? I don't think most people understand what street fighting is. Ask anyone from the former Yugoslavia. Weapons, eye gouging, fish hooking, groin strikes, pressure point strikes, and any other dirty method you can think of is involved. Its a matter of survival. This is a sport with rules and even though I train under the Gracie system, I think Eddie is brilliant. Flexability helps in all martial arts and should be always worked on.

Jul 6, 2009 - Big Eddie. He is the man indeed.
jujitsu34 Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - ohhh still awsome grapler
LiLtokoyo Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - If he train with any of the Machado's (which I know he did) He would have been in a GI since his first day of practice. Seeing as he competed as a brown belt in the Gi division, means he spend lots of time in his Gi. No one doubts that he is a good grappler. His system is good, For him. It by no means is a cure all. If your not super flexible, it wont work for you. Not too mention, any system that relies on a lot of guard work, isnt good for street fighting....
LiLtokoyo Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - there were three opponents. that video is a jumbled mess. It shows Eddie wearing the head gear, yet shows someone with blond hair at the end. If you google the tournament you can even find all the results.
theboywithwings Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - that definently wasnt eddie in the video vs dan camarillo if he did face him the vid doesnt show
theboywithwings Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - wow thats amazing.according to his books and everything i have read he has never trained with a gi i guesse he just doesnt like to remember that.even on his myspace he a pic of him wearing a gi at a seminar and he states that it is first time wearing a gi and his last.you proved me wrong damn thats hard to beleive.haha now i feel like an idiot.backing up my statement so boldy when i was wrong damn...at least i didnt dick tuck
LiLtokoyo Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - FYI: KNow your facts. Bravo was trained to extensively in Gi BJJ. He has been in Several Gi grappling tournaments and you can see him using the different grips to set up his positioning. He even lost to Dan Camarillo in a Gi tournament. Know your facts before you state your opinion.
LiLtokoyo Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - I will disagree with you now. What do BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, GSP, Machida, all have in common. All are GI trained, and still train in the Gi. I know first Hand that Brock Lesnar has spent loads of time in the Gi as well. Using the Gi helps teach you proper tec and not to use pure athleticism. Lets just say that More MMA fighters have trained with the gi then with out.
theboywithwings Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - i have to disagree with you eddie was trained no-gi his entire jitz life.he has only wore a gi once and that was to teach a seminar.he very anti gi in his aproach to bjj becuase he believes in most situations you will use bjj i.e. mma or a street fight or a no-gi tournament your gi will not be there to help you
theboywithwings Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - ruber guard can be VERY usefull in mma believe me.Twister side control is not that usefull i have to agree but rubber guard can be used to stop punches with a great succes rate.he does know something most coaches dont or they would have peiced together a system of jitz dedicated for fighting with fists
LiLtokoyo Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - I have read his book (he was trained Gi, not just no-gi) I have both of them. I dont criticize him for teaching his game to people, thats cool. What I criticize is his trash talking, and his ego saying he has made the next evolution in Jiu Jitsu. He has done no such thing in all reality. If it were so, more people would have made this system work. Only a few people really use it and have large success with it.
LiLtokoyo Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - Actually, More majority of fighters and grapplers dont see his system any better. Eddie is kind of laughed at a lot, in the fact that he thinks he knows something that the most coaches dont.
theboywithwings Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - bravo doesnt claim he created anything he just devolped a system that uses them all together.you can read his book he clearly states this.and bravo was trained no-gi by the machados
theboywithwings Says:
Jul 6, 2009 - u can ask anybody he made his bjj system to be more proficent in a fight than anyother bjj system so his intention were successfull
jujitsu34 Says:
Jul 5, 2009 - bjjboy is right bravo couldent do all the same stuff in a gi that he does without one on but still its an awsome fight
papagorgio23 Says:
Jul 5, 2009 - rubber guard son!
rofldan Says:
Jul 4, 2009 - This is true.
