Jun 7, 2011 - I live in the country - not in the city. We have limited 3G coverage - which means I cant use this as the maps are not stored on the phone. I would be happy to pay for the maps if that was an option so that i can use this while out of mobile reception range.

Jun 27, 2010 - -_- by useless I mean we can "use" it, just not the way we should be able to. Take the iPod as another example of handicapped tech: it's basically a hard drive with media player capability, yet we cannot use it as such. Apple wants the user to depend on their software, just like Google makes the user depend on isp's for marketing purposes.

Jun 19, 2010 - ...even if there was 3G coverage where I live, I would much prefer a GPS app over constantly having to rely on a data plan. Google Maps is designed to attract service providers, not to benefit users.

May 29, 2010 - no offline navigation makes google maps useless

May 28, 2010 - OMG its great. Yes, but in Serbia, none of this is not supported, even not the street view, nor the navigation. Imagine that :-S

Apr 14, 2010 - The GPS works everywhere. But navigation is in Beta and does not work in denmark.
miker71 Says:
Mar 26, 2010 - Is this US only? Can't find the turn-by-turn option on my Nexus One here in the UK, or maybe I'm being a bit thick - it shows directions and a 2D map but that's it.
DKNEX0o Says:
Mar 25, 2010 - does the gps also work in denmark and other EU countries?

Mar 23, 2010 - My house is in the major city of Ringgold GA then? 'Cause I see it clearly from street view. o.o

Mar 17, 2010 - Swinging on a swing sunshine, swinging on a swing. Others have also warned Apple. You can't complain others are in the words of Steve Jobs, "stepping all over Apples IP", while Apple is actively stepping all over someone elses. If you are defending software patents, then it is you who doesn't understand both the patents and the issues involved.
nellerboy2000 Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - It needs an internet connection but I believe it does store the route currently used so you don't come to a grinding halt when your service dies. If you want to change destinations or such though, you're out of luck.
nellerboy2000 Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - Trust me, it doesn't work flawlessly with Google at all. In my town alone we had several bugs appear with the free GPS, several included wrong destination address, despite the correct address appearing on screen. Also, street view and such, yeah, forget about that unless you live in a major city also of course.
nellerboy2000 Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - You don't understand a lot about patents do you? We're not talking about the gesture. We're talking about what the phone OS does when you use that gesture. Apple patented certain things that can happen when you use the gesture. Google and HTC for instance could probably easily get away with making the phone fart when you use the gesture on the N1. Google and HTC also can't say they didn't see this coming, Apple warned them a year and a half ago.
