http://www.ted.com TED's Chris Anderson says the rise of web video is driving a worldwide phenomenon he calls Crowd Accelerated Innovation -- a self-fueling cycle of learning that could be as significant as the invention of print. But to tap into its power, organizations will need to embrace radical openness. And for TED, it means the dawn of a whole new chapter ...
How come TED's head guy Chris Anderson is giving his own TEDTalk? Well, it all started with an idea that wouldn't go away -- an insight into the true significance of web video, and what it might mean for the world's future. Bruno Giussani, who runs our TEDGlobal conference, got excited enough about the idea that he insisted Chris speak at Oxford this summer. The talk ushers in a whole new chapter in TED's history ... one which you're invited to help write. Please watch, and then help shape the future of TED with your comments.

Apr 13, 2012 - Youtube is also driving idiocy, wasted time and all other human matters possible. It is a just a new technology, but as flawed as humanity. Just check out which videos are actually the most watched videos? What about gangster rap, it is huge... violence and sexism. Conspiracy theories, ghosts, climate sceptics, racism,... are all part of youtube along with piracy. Yes for some people it will be innovation for others it will not. Humanity hasn't changed that much.

Jan 3, 2012 - I loved TED the moment one of their earlier videos crossed my path. To say that I'm grateful for everyone at TED and all of their contributors/supporters would be an understatement. The breadth and depth of their content is an advantage... for us all.

Dec 23, 2011 - the medium is the message. as much as click-learn or open source ideas are abound people need a carrot on a stick to guide them. mystics(religion), government, and free market(capitalists) held the carrots and do not plan on letting go of the carrot anytime soon.

Dec 6, 2011 - I have a problem with this because what people put on the web is there choice but the web keeping track of what private viewers watch and the viewer not knowing how secure our private there cyber work/ life truely is is very wrong. Who is really on the other side of the two way mirror. How can I trust a person working for you datamining will not have alterior illegal motives. The fact that this is not talked about and the obvious other side of the coin makes me know that there is a problem.
