Jan 18, 2012 - To make a statement that aftermarket parts are just as good as OEM is stupid. It all depends on who made them. Some are shit, some are better and some are nearly as well-made as OEM. Watch out for aftermarket hoods that have the latch rip out and leave you with no forward vision. Having worked in body shops, I know.

Sep 26, 2011 - OEM or Aftermarket is unrealistic. If some nutcase open-fires on your vehicle with a M16 or 22 cal. rifle, you're just as dead. Or, if original parts were used at the recent Nevada P-51 Mustang crash, it would make no difference. People who argue about suicide need help. Now, if Ford were to make a body out of bombproof composite with a lifetime warranty, they would go out of business. Ford is in the business to make money and make people buy lots of gas. OEM fire extinguishers anyone?
Protechsince1982 Says:
Aug 10, 2011 - OEM BODY PARTS ARE THE WAY TO GO. There are no requirements to crash test aftermarket parts, OEM parts are extensively tested. Watch some of the videos Ford has produced crash testing aftermarket parts in comparison to OEM. The guys who replace parts for a living know the difference. The only advantage the aftermarket has to sell you on is price, you get what you pay for.
