Mar 5, 2012 - Thanks Steam, But I'll stick with my Nexus.

ThePostRockProject Says:

Feb 28, 2012 - To solve the problem of mods not being downloaded after the initial first days of its released you could have a "recently downloaded" or "downloaded today" section where it would show a random selection of mods that have been viewed / downloaded that day. just an idea

Feb 25, 2012 - I'm sorry but I cannot understand a word you say. And normally I understand well the UK accent.

dunmer2007 Says:

Feb 23, 2012 - Dark one?..You seem quite pale to me...X^D OT, I like the way you're considering the benefit of having both sites rather than just one, I wish businesses thought the same way!...But you are from the UK after all, and not from the U.S., where it's usually "me-me-me-MINE-Gimmie-gimmie!" as far as business/culture is concerned, at least the mainstream that is... BTW, to combat the wavering focus on your cam, simply turn off the auto-focus, as it's a really pointless feature anyways!

Feb 23, 2012 - NEXUS FOREVER!

Mikawo Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - I can see the Steam Workshop improving but there are issues. I noticed no info about how new games are added to the SW and the only games on it now are ones that are officially supported as such. If whether a game is on the SW depends on the publisher/developer then it restricts modders (who truly drive such sites). It alienates those who want to mod for the SW but their game is not supported. Nexus can shine by being a mod outlet that is more community driven with support for more games.

Feb 22, 2012 - (continued) A change certainly needs to take place. I just don't like it when people see it as arbitrary black and white, like the mods are evil and out to get you. Currently there are so many threads, comments, and mods going up that each one doesn't get that thorough investigation before getting the lock or ban and it is a shame. I am certain some mods can be bitter but I think most of the time it is them having too much on their plate to look into anything.

Napalm13092 Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - That I understand and agree with. I have certainly seen a few locked threads that while a little heated were still on discussion and no one was being flamed. Often though I see people come in and while they may even be making a valid point they carry themselves about in a very rude manner. They use anonymity of the internet as an excuse to degrade anyone who disagrees with their opinion. The mods can be a little heavy fisted but most of the time it seems justified.

Feb 22, 2012 - Oh I see, well thanks for informing me :)

Amycus89 Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - Maybe it isnt allowed because simply stating that they dont like a feature doesnt help the mod author at all to improve it. Change the "I dont like this mod and here is why" to "I think this mod could be improved by" and you come with suggestions that can actually be used and help the mod author. Compare it to if you meet an artist making a painting. Just saying "i dont like it and here is why..." wont exactly make anything better, except for turning the atmosphere sour.

Feb 22, 2012 - I love that horus heresy pic on the wall :D

Feb 22, 2012 - @MrLevitheace I'm sure that the Steam workshop will continue to grow as mods are released. However, its bound to be the case that certain mods will only be on the workshop and some may remain exclusive to the Nexus or other fansites. That's precisely why you should never limit yourself to just one source for mods. Usually (not always) mods are found in multiple places. If this is the case, I prefer Nexus because I'm accustomed to it and I like supporting sites like it.

DarthPuyang Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - nice 30k poster.

DKong360 Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - Very interesting as always. British accent makes everything better!

MrLevitheace Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - Can't wait til the Steam Workshop gets more notice by the modding community and is utilized more. There is no sense in going exclusively with one source for mods. Modders from the nexus site should want to share their mods with the whole community, not just one site.

Maldrannon Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - Glad that the Nexus seems healthy for the future. I've always loved the Nexus Sites.

donjaysus Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - its just awesome how darky and crew always adapt and change according to the needs, nexus evolving, afaik one of the few pages on the web that tries hard to be as good as possible, and always steps up to fix its downsides asap... also quite interesting how much knowledge on user behavior and their needs that way of adapting change has accumulated too, prolly damn useful for any website, few... prolly the only website i know that takes so much user input and actually uses it

donjaysus Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - not for mod authors XD ...still way better than steam though ;) (NMM has to fix the "update file" function... asap imo)

donjaysus Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - if you voice your opinion at inappropriate times you might get banned of course... and saying you dont like a mod, which is your opinion, you can have, in the mod comment thread is simply a waste of bandwidth and it harms the community by pissing of mod authors with your puny unimportant opinion, hence go to twitter or somin and state your opinions there, the comment are for contructive criticism "i dont like animals" is not a valid critique...

bimbo99 Says:

Feb 22, 2012 - I think Steam will probably try and buy you out if they cannot marginalise you with a better product. Your strength is that you are well established so no amount of marketing on their side is going to win over your community of users. You seem very fair minded, but do not underestimate a big company trying to capture a market they want to be in - up your security for a start, from servers to people. Wish you well.
