May 8, 2011 - the Wyse pocketcloud seems to be the most popular. There's also one called logmein. VMware have announced they are working on one but I don't think it's out yet. On another thread, I saw you are going to review the S2 soon - do you know if the keyboard/mouse can be USB-attached to that phone or only bluetooth? Cheers!

NZtechfreak Says:

May 7, 2011 - No, I haven't yet - which are the good ones for Android?

Dec 17, 2010 - Hi, can you prevent the on-screen keyboard from appearing at text input since you have a physical one? It would be very helpful to save that screen real estate, especially when editing text files, landscape IM, etc. Thanks

Dec 7, 2010 - Thanks for replying! After all it's better late than never.. :) anyway, i've determined that the reason why my galaxy s looks horrible on my tv is the tv settings itself.. I tried connecting it to my old 32 inch tv (different brand) and it looked great, much like in your video. so it really is just my tv. also, after buying 2 cables that didnt work, i finally found a cable from a hardware store that works, and is very cheap (around 120PHP which roughly translates to 2-3 dollars)

NZtechfreak Says:

Dec 7, 2010 - Hi there, sorry about the delay in replying, completely missed this question. I'm using the Nokia CA-75U cable, can be purchased very cheaply from a number of sources (most people are getting them from Ebay power sellers, I have mine from an old Nokia handset). It works the same in PAL as NTSC Firmware is Froyo (Android OS version 2.2) JPK build, but I've not seen anywhere that it differs from one Froyo build to another (or Eclair for that matter, it worked there for me too).

NZtechfreak Says:

Dec 7, 2010 - You need to be on Android OS version 2.2 to have this feature, your phone will have shipped with 2.1, so you'll need to upgrade. After that then nearly any BT keyboard and Mouse should work (check my thread at XDA developers for more details, there is a list of confirmed devices, and a few that have some idiosyncrasies).

NZtechfreak Says:

Dec 7, 2010 - Glad you liked it (I think). :)

Nov 27, 2010 - Hi! Fantastic video, thanks for the post! I just got the phone 2 days ago and want to get ready for some on the go music production - any particular tipps how to tune processor performance, etc? Also: very simple question: can I get any BT mouse and keyboard and how will I connect the devices? Just straight forward as I do with a hands free kit? Thanks mate!

fbloise Says:

Nov 17, 2010 - I will and post it here!

Nov 15, 2010 - hi. can i please ask the details for everything that's in your set up? specifically what tv out cable you're using, what tv, what firmware and hardware, are you in ntsc or pal mode, etc.. I try to do that too but the display looks horrible in my setup but in your vid, everything looks crisp, as if it's not an SD signal but an hd one..

NZtechfreak Says:

Nov 15, 2010 - I believe it should, give it a try!
