Apr 28, 2012 - Yeah, there are often awkward silences involved :( In this case I would suggest asking them about themselves or a subject they are interested in - this way you don't have to talk much and you can find out more about their life (not to mention pick up on some slang!). If this doesn't work, try telling them something about your hometown because it will be new and exciting for them :) Good luck!
